Sir Bradley Wiggins is suited to UCI Hour Record, says Sir Dave Brailsford

Sir Dave Brailsford believes Sir Bradley Wiggins' "absolutely brilliant" pace-management will be the key to his UCI Hour Record attempt on Sunday.

Wiggins will bid to break fellow Briton Alex Dowsetts record of 52.937km and has set a target of 55.250km, which equates to 221 laps of the Lee Valley VeloPark track.

As well as bettering Mid PRM Suede Blu Bianco Nike Blazer running scarpe Dowsett's mark by more than 2km, such a distance would potentially put the record out of the reach of any rider in the current generation and also make for a painful and exhausting ride.

You want to start not too hard but you want to end with not a drop left in the tank, so you dont finish with anything.

That is all down to having the right pacing strategy. One of the big things in Bradley's favour is he is absolutely brilliant at pacing, so that could stand him in good stead.
