The NFL has arrived in Los Angeles -- kind of.
A collection of over 40 NFL rookies arrived this week to attend the NFLPA Rookie Premiere at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston, New York Jets defensive lineman Leonard Williams, Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota, Chicago Bears receiver Kevin White, San Diego Chargers running back Melvin Gordon, St. Louis Rams running back Todd Gurley and Carolina Panthers receiver Devin Funchess are just a handful of the names in attendance.
The event was created in 1994 to help first-year players learn the business aspects of sports as well as the importance of their own personal brands.
This week marks the first time the players will wear their official team jersey for photo shoots with trading card companies. This is also when the players receive their Madden video game rankings, which are hand delivered by the Madden folks.
When the event ends, the season of preparation, which seemingly has become a year-round thing, will begin for most of these rookies. Team OTAs get going in the next few weeks, meaning the fun and games of the offseason soon will be over.
Enjoy the fun stuff while you can, rooks.
